WEEB-TV is an ABC-affiliated TV station located in Traverse City, Michigan, It was first founded as WEWE-TV on March 4, 1938 and was replaced by WEEB-TV (which isn't any better of a name) on February 14, 1997.

On March 4, 1938...a CBS affiliated station went on the air, it was called WEWE-TV...It served Grand Traverse County and Traverse City, Michigan. on March 19, 1947...NBC bought rights to WEWE-TV...and WEWE-TV ceased operations as a CBS affiliate on March 21, 1947...on March 25, 1947 WEWE-TV returned to the air, but now served some more of Michigan. WEWE-TV went independent from NBC on January 12, 1949 and formed the National Education Television or NET...which would have a major part in PBS' 1969 WEWE had formed the Michigan Independent Television, serving most of Michigan, with the rest being served by other stations. MIT (Michigan Independent Television) also had 3 other stations, WIIB-TV Lansing, WCCT-TV Detroit and WBBV-TV Marquette. in 1975 MIT merged with PBS, permanently bringing WCCT and WBBV off the air. in 1995, WEWE announced that WIIB and WEWE were merging to create WEEB-TV in 1997...which would be a ABC-affiliated station. the new headquarters would be located about 2 blocks away from the current headquarters in the Cherry Capital Airport...early on February 13, 1997...after the national anthem, WEWE-TV left the air for the final time...the next day WEEB-TV would sign on alongside the launch of which would be used from 1997 to 2009, but now is 2000 ABC briefly gave the station to the WB. it would be affiliated with the WB until they went bankrupt in 2006...they became a CW station from 2006 to 2009 before switching back to ABC.
